A bit of good
news on the unemployment front in Colorado.
Unemployment
rates in Colorado fell for the fourth consecutive month in June to 8.5 percent,
according to the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment.
"The largest private sector job gains in June were in
leisure and hospitality, education and health services, trade, transportation
and utilities." wrote Heather Draper
in an article for the Denver Business
Journal. "The largest declines were in construction, financial activities
and information."
The national jobless rate is 9.2 percent, which is a
decrease from last year's rate of 9.5 percent in June 2010.
