We have all felt the shrinking housing market, however, some areas are starting to recover, but others are not. In fact, some places are actually in a state of emergency, such is the case with Nevada. Las Vegas is one of the worst hit places in the country for the housing market. Not only is it in bad shape, its going to get worse. Nevada saw a housing boom in the earlier part of the decade, but now they have five times more foreclosures than the rest of the country. They have 68 percent of residential mortgages under water.
Nevada also saw a construction boom several years ago, but now they have the highest unemployment ratein the country. The worst hit place in the state is Las Vegas.
