Metro Brokers vs. Keller Williams as seen by Roxie Pool

Roxie Pool

MetroBrokersTV: Hi and welcome to Metro Brokers TV. I am Scott Shields, the Communication and Marketing Director for Metro Brokers. I am joined today in the studio with Roxie Pool. Roxie, thank you for coming down today.

Roxie Pool: Sure.

MetroBrokersTV: So, Roxie, tell us a little about yourself. How did you get started in real estate? <watch Video>

Roxie Pool: I was a flight attendant with Continental Airlines. They closed their Denver base and I took a five year leave. I really didn't know what I was going to do, but I had my real estate license from '81 I think and decided I would give it a try.

MetroBrokersTV: So, you left the friendly skies to come down and try to... the friendly greens and selling the homes.

Roxie Pool: Did not want to commute to Houston or New York.

MetroBrokersTV: Okay. Don't blame me. Don't blame you whatsoever.

Roxie Pool: No good choices.

MetroBrokersTV: So, you had your license, tried to give it a shot. Where did you start out with?

Roxie Pool: Keller Williams.

MetroBrokersTV: Okay and how long were you with Keller Williams?

Roxie Pool: About 13 years.

MetroBrokersTV: 13 years. So, that was back in the very beginning of Keller Williams. Is that correct?

Roxie Pool: It was. I didn't really realize that at the time I, a friend of mine said, "Oh, why don't you go with Keller Williams" and I was so green, I just said, "Okay." It was their first office and there were probably, maybe there were 30 of us.

MetroBrokersTV: And what made you... after 13 years being with Keller Williams, what made you finally realize there is Metro Brokers? What made you, after 13 years, finally find Metro Brokers and come over to Metro Brokers?

Roxie Pool: Well, I knew a lot of people that worked for Metro Brokers and a lot of people I liked, but what prompted me to get out of Keller Williams in general was the change in the market. They made some changes in our office that I didn't like and I finally had an incentive to do it.

MetroBrokersTV: Right. What were some of those changes that they made that wanted you to leave?

Roxie Pool: Well, they were pretty stupid and they were pretty small, but 23 dollars a month for parking. They used to, when we capped, at Keller Williams you capped and after that you keep a 100% and it used to be that when you capped, you didn't pay the 23 dollars a month parking and they took that away when this new group bought them and they used to take, if you did four more deals in a month, they take you out to lunch and they stopped that. That was my favorite thing. I love to go out to eat and that was my favorite thing and they took that. They just took enough things away that I didn't like it. What about keller Williams Profit sharing?

MetroBrokersTV: So, we have you over at Metro Brokers now and your company is Roxie Real Estate. Is that correct?

Roxie Pool: Yes.

MetroBrokersTV: And how is Roxie Real Estate and Metro Brokers working right now for you?

Roxie Pool: It works great. When I first came over, I just didn't understand the Metro Brokers concept. I thought I was... I came over to interview. I interviewed at Marina Square and I didn't understand that probably I would end up having my own company. I thought I was just going to work for another company and I was very hesitant at first, but after the initial shock and doing it, it is nothing. I mean it is just nothing to be your own company.

MetroBrokersTV: A piece of cake.

Roxie Pool: It is. Absolutely.

MetroBrokersTV: Which Metro Brokers office are you with?

Roxie Pool: Marina Square.

MetroBrokersTV: Okay and where is that?

Roxie Pool: Belleview and I-25.

MetroBrokersTV: Right. Great.

Roxie Pool: It is pretty close to my house, which I really like.

MetroBrokersTV: What do you like about Metro Brokers so far being with Metro Brokers?

Roxie Pool: I don't go to the office a lot because I home office. So, it is a continuation of the pretty much total independence. I have always liked having an office to go to, to take my clients to and I still have that. Metro Brokers provides me with the enhanced website. So, I don't have to go out and get my own website, because I don't... it is just too much time. I didn't want to [inaudible] with my time and if I do need something, I do have some support.

MetroBrokersTV: Well, thank you for coming down and spending time with us today in the studio.

Roxie Pool: Thank you Scott.
