A recent study by the California Association of Realtors has found that only 22% of home buyers were happy with their agent and would use them again.
The study was conducted over a six-year period from 2004 to 2009, and asked consumers to confirm or deny as "Yes, I would use the same agent." In 2004, 79% said yes but the figure has dropped to 22% in 2009.
The study also found that 64% of sellers said "the house took too long to sell" while 51% said they didn't "get the price we wanted."
It doesn't seem to inspire much hope, but we say to make lemonade out of the lemons!
Current changes in consumer attitudes can be great for individual agents. These days, the individual counts more than the company entity. Personal attention and customer service have become vital to success. By mastering technology and having the skills and hard work, prospects will be found for the agents who are strong and committed.
After all, the consumer wants a knowledgable, communicative and responsive agent to help them--not waste time on unfair economic transactions.
