In a story on TheNextWeb.com,
Danny Wong writes about How to Grow Modern Marketing Skills That
Work. Your marketing strategy is probably
a mix of the tried and true methods you have always used and the ever-changing
technologies of the web. But what really works?
Wong outlines four
techniques you can use in your business that can help you grow:
1. Call to Action: When potential
customers come to your website, you want to optimize their experience and convert
them to customers. Make sure they have a
positive experience and make sure you have a "call to action" where they
subscribe to a free newsletter or email list.
2.
Manage
your social media and connect with your customers: Wong states that social
media has "really evolved and become an important
part of the current day's marketing industry. It's about customer service,
new distribution and even advertising, content strategy, and proactive
listening."
3.
Search
Engine Optimization: Use keywords and
links to get consistent traffic on the search engines (like Google). "It's about (being) relevant and useful;"
says Wong, "usefulness always (has) been an important aspect of great business
strategy, but only recently has it been more important in SEO."
4.
Track
your Results: Getting good results, but don't know why? Wong says that's just
luck and you "won't be lucky for long." There are free tools like GoogleAnalytics to help you track your
efforts on the web. "This way, you can see what efforts are helping or hurting
your business," states Wong, "so you can cut out the things that aren't working
and double down on what is."
Grow your business by optimizing your website,
managing your social media presence, staying relevant and tracking your
results.

you use on your website to help you generate customers and leads?
