An interview
with LoDo's Bar and Grill Vice
President, George Mannion and General
Manager, Watson Cornell, sponsors of
the 2011 Metro Brokers Triathlon.
Interviewer: Welcome
to the Metro Brokers Triathlon. This is our 3rd annual venue, we are here at Cherry Creek State Reservoir, and I am here with Watson and George here from Lodo's and
welcome guys.
Watson Cornell: Well thank you very much. It's been an awesome event.
Interviewer: Yeah,
why don't you tell us a little bit about yourself George?
George Mannion: Well there is nothing to tell about me, it's
all about the event really. I do work
with Adaptive Adventures, as well as
being one of the owners of Lodo's. I am the Chairman
of the Board of Adaptive Adventures which has been around for about 11 years,
and we do a lot of great things, helping
people with physical disabilities enjoy outdoor activities.
This is an extreme outdoor activity for
somebody that is disabled and I was really happy to find out that a friend
of mine that I know through Adaptive Adventures,
a gal named LuAnn and I don't know her last name, but she was participating
today I found out at the last minute that she happened to be being guided, she
is blind, she was guided by Watson's wife Sidney, who I do know very well since
he and I have worked together for more than a decade. It was just such a small planet and it's a fantastic event and things are cool.
Interviewer: Awesome,
well the energy here this year is just great.
For a 3rd annual event I think
things are really starting to pick up.
Watson Cornell: It's an amazing event, I mean I think for, in
one of the sprint races I mean, you get an unbelievable amount of talent out
here. I mean, Tim Hola, you know, from Timex team. Adam
Weaver, he's, you know, one of the guys that's in top, top of the nation,
you know my wife is out there too just so you know, little kudos to her, and it's
an amazing event, its one of the first
sprints for the season and a lot of people come out for it and I see this
thing just growing and growing, so it's a fantastic
event and you know, hats off to Metro
Brokers for putting this on.
Interviewer: Well,
I just tell you Watson, I mean one of the big things that people always
compliment is the food and you guys have been with us from the very
beginning, so we appreciate that.
Watson Cornell: Well I appreciate, you know, and hope that this
will get more attendance and some seats, that's what we are trying to do is get
more people in the seats and get them a really nice meal.
Interviewer: You
