Online evaluations of
real estate agents is the new trend for 2011 on sites such as Yelp and RateMyAgent.com. "Like it or not," says Bernice Ross, Real Estate Coach, "there's not much you can do about
it."

So, ask your clients to do a survey of your business after
the closing. "Companies that do
post-closing surveys report satisfaction rates as high as 97 percent, "says
Ross.
Ross offers up these
questions to ask to help you improve your business skills:
1. What was the most important
reason that caused you to hire me?
2. When you think of my
representation during your real estate transaction, what are the first things
that come to your mind?
3. What could I have done better?
4. Do you know anyone who may be
thinking of buying or selling property?
5. May I use you as a reference?
6. Would you mind doing a video
testimonial for me?
Your survey can be handled online through a site such as SurveyMonkey or it could be a mail-in
form complete with return envelope.
Make sure you handle
any negative posts about your business immediately. "It takes approximately
5-6 positive posts to outweigh one negative post on Yelp. Gather as many
positive video testimonials as possible and post them as soon as you can." says
Ross. "If the problem is really serious, you can hire a firm such as Reputation.com.' This is
not cheap, but having negative information about you on the web can cost you
your career."
As always, maintaining
great customer service is the best way to achieve high ratings with your
clients and online.
