Do you know about those invisible fences for dogs? You know the ones you use to train your dog not to leave your yard. When they cross your yards boundaries they get a shock, there is now something like that for us humans. Instead of a shock we get an email or an alert.
It does sound pretty cool for a lot of reasons. Imagine youre a real estate agent trying to sell a home to picky clients. You have shown them just about everything you have in your basket, and you have driven them to just about every property in town. Later that week, they are driving around on their way to the spa and they get a text message telling them there is a home matching their needs just up the street and to the right. It also tells them there is a Starbucks and a 24hr. Fitness six blocks from that too.
So, this new technology sets up a perimeter and lets you know when you are in or out of it, and it lets you know whats around you as well. If you input that you are interested in new construction and new neighborhoods, it will inform you if you happen to be near one. This takes a bit of the work load off people like real estate agents, and expands their reach and their tool box. Geo Fencing, the new mobile technology, interesting!
