Big Changes Coming to Metrolist

Metrolist announces a new database coming this year, offering better access to agents. Find out more in this interview from the Metro Brokers Annual Meeting.

Interviewer:   Hi I'm Kathy Soltero with Metro Brokers TV, today we are at the Metro Brokers Annual Meeting at the Wellshire and we are talking with some of our great sponsors of our event today and with us today we have Greg Anderson with Metrolist, Greg thank you so much for being one of our sponsors again.

Greg Anderson:  Great, I'm glad to be back, I was here last year for the event and looking forward to seeing all the agents today again.

Interviewer:   Tell us a little bit about what Metrolist is doing these days?

Greg Anderson:  There is some big changes coming with Metrolist, the main one is probably our roll out of a new database coming this year, we are going to the CoreLogic and Matrix platform and plan to have that up sometime this summer for the agents to start using.

Interviewer:   How is that going to benefit some of the agents?

Greg Anderson:  It's going to be a very solid, much friendlier, have much more capability than currently we have in Prime Access.

Interviewer:   So does it work well with all systems like Mac?

Greg Anderson:  Yes it does work across all platforms.  All the different devices that are out there now, PC's, Mac's, Tablets, iPads all those things.

Interviewer:   Perfect, because we're starting to see a lot more of those devices being used and it's a lot easier.

Greg Anderson:  Things are changing really fast in the last couple of years so this platform will help us meet all those needs definitely.

Interviewer:   Well we really appreciate you being a supporter here at Metro Brokers.

Greg Anderson:  Glad to be back, thank you much.

1031 Exchanges at FirstBank

Interviewer:   Hi I'm Kathy Soltero with Metro Brokers TV, and today we are at the Metro Brokers Annual Meeting at the Wellshire.  We're talking with many of our sponsors of today's event and today we have Jeff King, with FirstBank.  Jeff thank you so much first of all for being a sponsor for Metro Brokers.

Jeff King:  Thank you for allowing us to be a sponsor, we just, this is our third year I believe and we are just so excited to be a sponsor.

Interviewer:   I see today you are really talking a lot about the 1031 Exchange, tell us what FirstBank has to offer with that?

Jeff King:  Well in 2006 FirstBank acquired 1031 Corporation, it's been a great fit, we're able to offer our clients who are exchanging into a property, you know a safe place for their exchange funds as well as a good place to have to exchange loans, replacement loans as well so it's been a great fit for us.

Interviewer:   This kind of makes it a little bit more simplified and the process makes it easier, FirstBank's got a program with that?

Jeff King:  Absolutely, it's basically one stop shopping, and you bring a client into FirstBank, we could do the loan for you, we could do the exchange for you, we have over 50 years of exchange experience on staff at the bank, so it's really one stop shopping.

Interviewer:   So nothing should go wrong then?

Jeff King:  Hopefully nothing will go wrong.

Interviewer:   Okay alright.  Well, have you seen with the market, the way it is I mean, it's not necessarily real estate market but just in general investments and so forth that a 1031 Exchange is probably a very safe way of doing business?

Jeff King:  One thing we've seen this year, over the past few years we've seen a growth in exchanges and 2012 was probably up to 2007, 2008 levels which we haven't seen, you know, obviously for quite some years so a lot of people are really starting to take advantage of this again and with the uncertainties in the taxes right now it's a great strategy for some people to consider.

Interviewer:   Real estate's always a great investment no matter what are the markets doing.

Jeff King:  Absolutely, that's for sure.

You Can Trust Land Title

Interviewer:   Hi I am Kathy Soltero with Metro Brokers TV, today we are at the Metro Brokers Annual Meeting here at the Wellshire and we're talking with some of our sponsors of today's event.  We have Jesse Hamilton with Land Title, Jesse thank you so much for being a sponsor.

Jesse Hamilton:  Of course it's a pleasure to be here.

Interviewer:   Tell us a little bit about Land Title, any new changes, anything that you are offering agents these days?

Jesse Hamilton:  Well you know Land Title has been around in Colorado for 45 years, we are a locally owned and operated company and that's very important to us to be servicing all these brokers here locally.  Some of the things that we really truly believe in is that professional relationship that we have with our brokers and so a lot of it has to do with keeping them up to date with contract changes and so forth. There are all sorts of printed pieces that we have even with us here today, but brokers can also access them through our Land Title marketing solutions website, simply go to LandTitleMarketingSolutions.com. One of those pieces is a 'You Choose' brochure. It is a piece that the brokers can hand out to their customers and it helps educate them on title insurance, what to look for and includes our own little tidbits and answers in there as well, to help them and educate them.

Interviewer:   So when you are working with a buyer, you can hand them one of these sheets and say you're the one who's going to pick out the title insurance, here's some information that you would need to know?

Jesse Hamilton:  Yeah its a lot of those consumer questions, because a lot of the consumers just don't have the knowledge base of title insurance, what is it, because typically they are not buying a home that frequently to really have that education base, so this is just an added benefit that we can help give a resource to the brokers and then they are being able to provide that in being a resource themselves.

Interviewer:   I noticed you also have a whole list of classes that you offer brokers?

Jesse Hamilton:  Yes, so one of the things we believe in is making sure that the brokers are connected with education, we come out with a great education schedule annually, anything ranging from title specific classes to either more broad range of classes as well.

Interviewer:   Probably saves a lot of time and that sort of thing especially for the broker?

Jim Holway:  Well yeah and we know with the logo, we have the correct logo's that corporate wants people to use and we know how to place the logo so you know it prevents a lot of hassle back and forth and possibly printing something incorrectly so, you know there are some advantages to dealing with people that deal with realtors on a day to day basis.

Gerry Powers:  Thank you.  I appreciate it, we enjoy being here.

Interviewer:   So tell us about Centralized Showing any great new changes or additions?

Gerry Powers:  Oh all kinds of stuff, we're the largest showing service in the United States.  I believe last year we did something like 21 million scheduled showings.  We don't show property though, that's something I need to explain to people. We don't go out and show property; we schedule the showings amongst the showing agent and the listing agent.  Our technology has moved forward so much that now we can send an email or a text message to a seller and they can accept the client or reschedule that showing. So everything is starting to move forward very-very quickly and we're excited about that because it's helping everybody.

Interviewer:   Well Centralized Showing is just exactly that, it's central, so it seem like people can go there, they can make their showing setup many at a time.

Gerry Powers:  Oh absolutely, and you know right now in the Denver market itself I've got about 70% of the market now wrapped up. So agents are telling me that the first thing they do is they look for our number because they can call and schedule 7, 8, 9 showings by calling one number and it's all done! Their day is taken care of. So those are some of the benefits that come along with it- that we have to explain to people before they really get involved with us.
