Metro Brokers TV: Hi. I
am Scott Shields with metrobrokerstv.com and I am coming to you live from the
Colorado Association of Realtors State Convention down at the Broadmoor
Hotel. I am joined here today with Gary
Morton. Gary, thank you for coming down and talking
with us.
Gary Morton: Happy to be here Scott.
Metro Brokers TV: So, Gary
tell us a little about your background with Metro Brokers. How did you get started with Metro Brokers?
Gary Morton: Well, let's see... I sold my portion of Cherry
Creek Realtors about four years ago and knew of Metro Brokers since the day
they started and always admired them.
They have the top agents from around the Denver area and we all recognized that for
years.
Metro Brokers TV: So, it was the success, the professionalism
of Metro Brokers that drew you or were there other things that drew you to
Metro Brokers?
Gary Morton: I think it was just the overall thing. You know, the agents are of the highest
professional caliber and they are recognized as such throughout the Denver area. The fact that there is no franchise fees, the
fact that there is commericals that people recognize and identify so it's a
well known product to our clients as well.
Metro Brokers TV: So, that great brand recognition that Metro
Brokers has... now, being in the real estate industry, tell me where do you see
since the economy had the shift and real estate industry had the shift, where
do you see Metro Brokers going and where do you see the real estate market
going like in the next two or three years?
Gary Morton: Well, I have been in real estate in Denver for 35 years. So, I have seen it go up and down and this is
just one of the cycles we are going through.
Actually, when it comes to the financing, plenty of financing out there,
but it is very similar to the way financing used to be 20 years ago, where it
was... qualifying was a little more strict and of course, that also resulted in
less foreclosures and makes a stronger market altogether. So, we are in a market right now that is
going through a downturn and I think what we are going to see is the weaker
agents will drop out and the stronger agents will survive.
Metro Brokers TV: So, it is getting back to the basics of how
to be a Realtor® in today's market, correct?
Gary Morton: That's absolutely correct.
Metro Brokers TV: All right.
You heard it here live at the convention floor at CAR. I am Scott Shields with metrobrokerstv.com.
