| Colorado gets Funding for Public Housing |
|
Colorado was awarded $12.1 million
dollars by the US Department
of Housing and Urban Development for improvements to public housing units.
"HUD's Capital Fund
Program provides annual funding to all public housing authorities to build,
repair, renovate and/or modernize the public housing in their communities," said
the news release on the HUD website.
HUD awarded a total
of 1.9 billion dollars to public housing authorities in all 50 states but HUD
Secretary, Shaun Donovan said that this only scratches the surface. "Housing
Authorities need nearly $26 billion to keep these homes safe and decent for
families."
