Even though there are increasing numbers of video games out on the market Apple decided to join the game of video games. Developers are offering their games at reduced prices, from $60 down to just $1, they say they are earning money through advertising and the increased audience Apple offers them through the assorted devices Apple has, such as the iPhone, iPod, and iPad.
17% of apps offered are games, and a lot of the paid apps are moving into the free area of the app store. Developers are anxious to get their games in the hands of players and are doing so by offering games for $1 or for free and monetizing the games through other advertising efforts.
